Top 10 Favorite Snacks

Like so many of us, there was a time when Cheetos were my idea of a delicious snack. Then I spent a year in Ecuador where processed foods were hard to come by. It was horrible. Until it was wonderful. When you break the junk food habit and start eating whole foods, you never want to go back. But in our fast-paced culture, it’s difficult to stave cravings without grabbing a bag of chips or candy.

Here are 10 of my favorite snacks that fill my need for something salty/sweet/tangy/crunchy/creamy:

  1. Almonds*
  2. Grape tomatoes
  3. Hummus and carrots
  4. Salsa and tortilla chips
  5. Popcorn
  6. Edamame
  7. Terra chips
  8. Dried cranberries
  9. Ranch dip and veggies
  10. Green apples slices with natural peanut butter

*Almonds are a personal favorite, as evidenced by their #1 place on this list. I prefer the raw, bulk food variety – these are usually the best priced, too. When in doubt? Almonds. Running out the door? Almonds. No time for breakfast? Almonds. They’re so versatile! 🙂

    Your recipes leave even a meat eater with mouth watering! Will look forward to being treated with a few of them. Also, nice job with all your photography. I like the inclusion of your whimsical egg timer that shows up here and there.
